A family oriented team built from the best.
Ray was born and raised near Chandler. While attending Davenport high school, he worked at a service station changing oil before enrolling in the Diesel Mechanics program at OSU Tech Okmulgee. While in school, Ray did maintenance for his father, who leased trucks out of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Ray graduated in 1967 and found a job working carburation and service for AmeriGas in Hennessey but left after a year to work with his father. He bought his first truck, a 1964 surplus cabover, from AmeriGas in 1969, and continued to lease trucks out of Tecumseh until 1979, when he bought land in Chandler to build the Acord office and shop.
Ray became the president of Acord Transportation in 1991, after Leon retired. He is also a partial owner of Cactus Tanks with his wife, Pat, and Phyllis and Andy Sharp, and is still known to take out his truck when he can.
Like his father Ray, Jeff was born and raised in Chandler. Unlike his father, he didn’t originally plan to go into the trucking business. After high school, Jeff studied Aviation Management at OSU, and got his pilot’s license in 1997. But he also got his CDL in 1999 and would drive for Acord when he had time off from school.
After graduation Jeff started working full-time at Acord, where he has done everything from washing trucks to assisting with safety operations. For the past five years, he has also overseen Acord’s larger accounts and in 2018 he became partial-owner and vice-president of Acord Transportation.
Jeff still drives, and occasionally flies co-pilot in Acord’s Beechcraft King Air 200.
Lee grew up in Davenport, Oklahoma. He fell into Accounting when he transferred to UCO – forced to declare a major, he picked the first one in the degree book. But Accounting was a great fit, and after graduating he went to work for Grant Thornton, LP, managing large family groups in oil and gas, transportation, manufacturing, retail, and agriculture industries.
In 2006, Lee left Grant Thornton and became Acord’s CFO. Now he covers every facet of Accounting for Acord Transportation and all the companies under the Acord umbrella– if he’s not doing it himself, he’s overseeing it.
When not at Acord, Lee is often found coaching his kids’ softball, baseball and football teams.
Jay grew up in Davenport and has been working 8 hours a day since he was a senior in high school. Jay’s father leased trucks for Acord, and like Jeff, Jay grew up around Acord Transportation. After leaving Acord for 6 years, he came back in 1998 and started working full time at Acord.
Now, as the maintenance director Jay manages the day to day operations of Acord’s shop, taking care of truck maintenance, washing, tires, parts and everything else that keeps Acord’s trucks on the road. He also watches over and coordinates with the maintenance programs at Acord’s other terminals.
Jay’s favorite part of his job is diagnosing electronics issues in trucks – he finds it both deeply aggravating and incredibly rewarding.
Dusty grew up in Chandler, Oklahoma. After graduating from UCO with a degree in Industrial Safety, he went to work in the oil field, where he spent 10 years managing safety and HR for drilling contractors. Dusty started working as Acord’s safety director in 2016.
As Safety Director, Dusty manages all of Acord’s DOT compliance, driver safety training and handles all the commercial insurance. He’s proud to have contributed to Acord’s status as one of the safest HAZMAT tanker companies in the industry.
